THE HIGH PRIESTESS DESCRIPTION

The High Priestess can appear in many places, including within the archetypes of Persephone, Artemis and Isis. She sits on a stone in between two pillars associated with the Temple of Solomon, Jachin (right) and Boaz (left). Jachin represents establishment, and Boaz represents strength. They display colors of black and white, symbolizing duality marked within us. 

The High Priestess is dressed in a blue robe with a cross on the chest, and adorned with a crown. This indicates her divine knowledge and wisdom. In her hands she holds a scroll in her hands that reads "TORA," which means "divine law." This idea expresses the sacred knowledge is within us, waiting to be revealed as we transcend the material plane. The crescent moon at her feet connects her to her intuition and the natural cycles of the moon. 

The High Priestess Upright

As the counterpart to The Magician who reigns over the material world, The High Priestess is the ruler over the subconscious mind and hidden mysterious. She positions herself between both the conscious and subconscious realm, incorporating both aspects. She brings a sense of intuition about the Universe. 

This is a time to seek answers within. The High Priestess will guide you on the path to spiritual enlightenment as you seek the deep truth that is calling to you.  This moment is asking you to be still and quiet your mind, in order for the answers within you to surface. Find time to connect with your intuition and Higher Self through meditation. 

The Divine Feminine is calling you to connect to your intuition and inner wisdom. You need to balance the masculine energy of The Magician with the feminine energy of The High Priestess.

Your intuitive ability is high right now, and it would be best to continue to develop them. Do not force anything, listen to your intuition as you let ideas flow through you. This is a not a time to rationalize, but a time to trust your instinct and intuition as you let your inner voice guide you in the right direction. 

The High Priestess Reversed

The High Priestess in the reversed position may suggest that you may be caught up in the world around you and the opinions of others. Only you truly know what is best for you, and The High Priestess calls you to turn inward and listen to your own wisdom. While it is ok to consider the advice and words of others, you will be the one who has to live with the decision. Separate yourself fro the external world and find a quiet space to meditate in order to clearly hear the messages from within. Do not force an answer with constant brooding and thinking, but let the answer flow to you. 

The High Priestess can sometimes bear a secretive nature, and one that causes more harm than good. Information and hidden agendas may be kept out of sight. Open communication is key to uncovering secrets and fabrications. 

Sometimes it id difficult to trust ourselves and our intuition. Self doubt can hinder our journey as we second guess ourselves. This lack of confidence can create discord within our inner world, making it harder to build trust in ourselves. Sometimes a single mistake may cause us to mistrust our intuition. It is imperative, albeit difficult, to forgive yourself and surrender to the whims and flowing energy of the Universe, as it will prove beneficial to strengthening your intuition.
